RATS 11.1
RATS 11.1

PostScript (a trademark of Adobe Systems Inc.) is a hardware-independent graphics description language, supported by a variety of printers. Also, many word-processing and page-layout programs can import PostScript files. PostScript tends to produce the most accurate rendering of a RATS graph. PostScript is also used in RATS if you save the file in PDF format (which puts a PDF "wrapper" around the PostScript).

You can save graphs in PostScript format by selecting the File>Save As... operation with a graph window is active or can save them automatically as they are generated using the GSAVE instruction. See Graphics File Formats for additional information.

The text files PROLOG.PST and POSTLOG.PST (found in the same directory as the RATS application) contain macro definitions and other information that is used when converting RATS graphics to PostScript format. If you are familiar with the PostScript language, you can edit this file to change the fonts and/or the symbols used in the graphs. However, you probably are better off using Style Definitions to better choose from the existing styles.

See Choosing Graph Fonts for more information.
