Create a file (I'm calling it darker.txt) with the line

FILL_BW_0=0,.8

In the RATS program, before you do your graph, add the following:

Code: Select all

open styles darker.txt
grparm(import=styles)
The default level of gray for the shading is .9. The gray scale runs from 0.0=black to 1.0=white. You can experiment with numbers around .8 to see what works best with your printer. (You can often see quite a difference with even very small differences in the gray scale value because printers often are poor at delivering accurate light gray levels).
