RATS (Regression Analysis of Time Series) is a fast, efficient, and comprehensive time series analysis and econometrics software package. Menu-driven Wizards and an intuitive command language make simple tasks easy to accomplish, while its extensive programmability also make RATS a very flexible and powerful tool for more complex applications.
RATS is built around an interactive editing environment and a powerful command language. Together, these allow you to quickly implement econometric analysis tasks, and make it easy to try different model specifications or estimation techniques without having to rerun entire programs.
The editor also offers more than twenty menu-driven Wizards that provide point-and-click access to most common tasks, including reading data, displaying graphs, doing transformations, estimating models, and hypothesis testing.
When you use a Wizard, RATS displays the corresponding commands in the editor window, so you can actually learn the RATS language through using the Wizards.
You can also save these commands as a complete program, which can be re-run at a later date with just a couple of mouse clicks.
Other features include an extensive Help system (handled as HTML files on the Mac and UNIX versions), toolbar icons for common operations, and a powerful reporting tool for accurately publishing your results.
All versions of RATS also offer "batch mode" operation. You can run jobs from the command line; by dragging and dropping files, or by simply double-clicking on a shortcut icon. Perfect for users who need to routinely run the same jobs over and over.
RATS allow syou to create publication-quality time series graphs, scatter plots, and contour graphs.
