running program changes original codes

I have my RATS codes in Notepad++. After running these codes, I find that the original codes in Notepad++ are replaced by strange characters and no longer work. Could anyone suggest a remedy?

You would have to be doing something with the program that overwrites the file. How are you using that file with RATS?
