Space between bars

Hallo,
is there a way to put some space between the bars for two consecutive periods when using 'graph' with option 'style=bar'?

Below (roughly) 20 data points, the bars do have separation, as they look too fat otherwise. Once the number of data points gets higher, the spacing is left out. Have you looked at the STYLE=SPIKE option?
