Unbalance Panel Data Loading

Postby ejosmer » Mon Jun 11, 2012 9:12 am

Hi:

I'm a new user to RATS and I'm having difficulty loading data for an unbalanced panel. The data is monthly and the number per individual varies from 1 to 9 years.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Regards,

Eric

The details would really depend on exactly what you have to work with in the data set itself. The best bet is usually to use the PFORM instruction to form your series into the panel structure supported by RATS. This is easiest to do if you have (or can easily create) numeric series in your data file that indicate the individual and time period (date) of each data point.

If can post or email us a sample showing what your data set looks like now, we can try to offer some specific suggestions.
